Ninja ranks and missions explained

Your ninja's rank is the plate on his headband, and it grows one mission at a time. Here is how missions work, what every rank pays, and what each one opens.

Missions

You always have three missions, shown on the start screen: things like "Block 5 arrows", "Run 300 m" or "Reach a x5 combo". A mission has to be done within one run: blocking three arrows today and two tomorrow doesn't add up. Finish one and you get:

A new mission takes its place straight away. Missions get harder as your rank rises, and the harder ones pay more. A few only appear once you own the ink they need, like bouncing on rubber ink or smashing rocks with steel.

Stars and ranks

Every three stars is a new rank. There are ten, and Legend takes 27 stars:

That's 4,500 coins in rank rewards on the way to Legend, on top of what the missions themselves pay.
